Real Azores's sceneries were made by one
person, Pedro Sousa. The team is composed by persons who in some way
supported this scenery with logistics, technical advisors, contributions,
etc.
Each airport is considered complete after a process which goes from the
construction to the betatest and finally the final revisions. This process
takes about 30 to 40 hours.
Each beta tester has it's special task. While some are due to reviewing
the aeronautical data and crosschecking it with the latest AIP and AIS
publications, others will review each line, each building. Others are
residents in the Azores and cotribue by advising any problem, any feature
that should be modeled.
SATA Group, the Azorean airline, allowed us to access the cockpits during
our trip to the Azores, in order to capture pictures of the airports
during the approach and for talking with the pilots so that we could get
familiar with the procedures in use. Some of these pilots are using today
the scenery for training. Also, SATA, as managing enterprise of the
aerodromes, gave us free pass to the airport's aprons so that we could
take all those airside pictures.
ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, gave us a great support by giving access to
the airside of their airports, and Follow-me assistance. Follow-Me
assistance was a big part of techinal information. We could drive in the
runways, talk to who works in the airport everyday.
NAV, the ATC entity, let us to climb up to the control towers, allowing
for an extra view of the airport. By chating with the air traffic
controllers we could get familiar with the procedures on the ground and
get close to those airport's parts highly relevant.
Below you can find several pictures taken during the trip to the Azores.
